Transverse flute. African blackwood (grenadilla). Three joints. Silver ferrules and keys. Eight keys, block mounted (turned away mounts) with square flat flaps and leather pads. B-flat key has a duplicate touchpiece. Conical body. Cork lapped tenons. Head joint is stamped: MONZANI & Co./1; Body joint is stamped: MONZANI & Co./24 DOVER St/LONDON/1211; Foot joint is stamped: MONZANI & Co./PATENT; Crown emblem is stamped above head joint and body joint inscriptions and on every key flap.
