Transverse flute

Transverse flute. Boxwood body. Five joints. Ivory ferrules and end cap. Eight silver keys, block mounted, with salt spoon cups and stuffed leather pads. One block mount full and round in profile, all others are turned away. Concentric turned grooves on head joint on either side of embouchure hole and on barrel. Head joint stamped: C-NICHOLSON'S/IMPROVED; Upper joint stamped: 1389/CLEMENTI & Co/LONDON/C-NICHOLSON'S/IMPROVED; Lower joint and foot joint stamped: CLEMENTI & Co/LONDON
