Putorini

P?t?rino, trumpet or flute, formed from a single piece of hard wood that has been split longitudinally. The two halves are bound together with two lengths of tight plaited phormium tenax fibre string binding. The string binding the proximal end is thicker than that binding the distal end, and a later nail holds it in place. The instrument has a figure-of-eight shaped soundhole, and has been stained black.
