Cuckoo; vessel flute
Zoomorphic whistle, vessel flute with duct, consisting of a ceramic model of a cuckoo. The entire surface apart from the underside of the base os covered in a brown glaze. The tail forms the mouthpiece and terminates in a wide, round mouth hole. The mouth or window is positioned under the tail. There is a single round finger hole above the right wing. The instrument is marked: ITALY; although it was probably made in England.
