Gralla
Gralla (‘tiple’ or treble sized), conical oboe. The body and the bell are turned from a single piece of light coloured wood. Seven finger holes of unequal size, the lowest offset to the player’s right, and one thumb hole. The proximal end has a rounded baluster with groves cut into the surface and a brass staple. There is a turned astragal where the body meets the bell, and the bell rim has a wide lip, which is triangular in cross section. Two circular vent holes are cut into the sides, near the top of the bell.
