English-system concertina. Rosewood ends, 6.25in /159mm across parallel sides. Without fretwork, but with circular section cut away, exposing pine backing. 44 ivory buttons, black accidentals, stamped with note names, bushed. Square-end nickel reeds. Four-fold green leather bellows with gold circle papers. Original green leather straps with nickel screws. Oval paper label: By His Majesty's Letters Patent/C. Wheatstone/Inventor/20 Conduit St., Regent St./London; Instrument serial number 773; bellows and reed pan serial number 698. With hexagonal mahogany case.
