Clarinet
Clarinet. Nominal pitch: B-flat. Stained boxwood body with black wood mouthpiece (probably not original). Brass keywork and ivory ferrules. Five pieces: mouthpiece, barrel, left hand joint, integral right hand/lower joint, bell. Twelve keys, ten mounted in blocks and two in saddles. Keys have round, flat flaps. Three of the lower joint finger holes are bushed with brass. Ivory ferrules at top and bottom of barrel, top of lower joint, top of bell and bell rim. Mouthpiece has reed and thread ligature. Left hand joint, integral right hand/lower joint and bell stamped 'KEY/LONDON', with a unicorn's head emblem beneath. The bell also has 'CHARING CROSS' stamped beneath this.
