English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.19in/157mm across parallel sides. Fretwork with pine backing. 48 buttons: 24 each side, ivory with black accidentals, stamped. Square-end brass reeds, pans stamped in black with each note name. Four-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Green leather straps with nickel screws. Oval paper label: William Dove, Manufacturer, 20 Poland St, Oxford St, London; Serial numbers: 234 (ends and bellows), 232 (pans).
