Concertina
Anglo-German system concertina. Nickel ends, 6.06in/154mm across parallel sides, fully fretted with decorative fretwork of birds, plants and flying insects in gold wash. Metal sides with floral etching and bevelled edge. 46 flat nickel buttons: 21 + 1 drone left-hand, 23 + 1 air right-hand, bushed. Raised nickel hand bars. Round-end brass reeds, rectilinear reed pan. Six-fold thick black leather bellows, fully gilt lined and stamped, no papers. Black gilt-lined straps, later screws. Simple stamp on oval panel on right end: C Jeffries, Maker; Owner's plaque on left-hand: Charles Humphries; No serial number, internal pencil number: 3.46
