Conical drum; kabaro
Kabaro, double membrane conical drum. Wooden bowl-shaped shell with a large and a small circular aperture, covered with hide. The shell is covered with a red cloth with black and white designs comprising small circular motifs, also vertical and horizontal borders. The skins have hair still visible on the outer surfaces. The lacing of thongs is directly attached to holes at edges of membranes. The thongs are threaded around two horizontal bands to create three V-shaped sections of lacing down the shell. Carrying handles formed from the lacing are positioned at one side at the edge of each head.
