English-system concertina. Flat amboyna ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides, with fancy frets. 48 buttons: 24 each side, ivory with black accidentals, stamped and bushed. Square-end brass reeds. Four-fold green leather bellows with gold star and blue hexagon papers, silk-reinforced on lower folds. Left-hand straps absent, right-hand straps later. Nickel screws. Oval scalloped paper label: George Case, Manufacturer and Professor of the Concertina, 32 New Bond St (Late Joseph Scates) London; Serial number 52.
