English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides, fine simple frets with pine backing. 48 tall ivory buttons, black accidentals, stamped. Square-end nickel reeds with a trace of old oval label in centre of left-hand action board. Four-fold green leather bellows with silk reinforced bottom side and gold star papers. Green leather straps with nickel screws. Oval paper label: Nickolds Bros. late with C. Wheatstone, Manufacturers, No. 5 Woodbridge St, Clerkenwell, London; (intentionally made to resemble a Wheatstone label). Serial number: 110.
