Zither
Qin, box zither. Two ideograms signifying: 'Bright' 'Rice' are carved on the back of the instrument. The wooden body with convex soundtable is lacquered black, with patches of a red-brown colour. Thirteen mother of pearl discs are inlaid on the player's side of the soundtable. There are seven strings, with gaugues of graduated thickness. The back has a rectangular soundhole.
