Prototype 'duett' system concertina, patented in 1844. 6x4.63in/152x118mm rectangular rosewood ends; simple frets at base with leather backing; four screws. 24 brass buttons: 12 each side (1 right-hand missing) with note names embossed. Four-fold green bellows with white/gold star papers. Straps absent, with only right hand bar present; large brass screws. Faint oval stamp in rosewood of right-hand end: By Her Majesty's Letter Patent, Wheatstone & Co, Inventors, 20 Conduit St, London; No serial number.
