Concertina
English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides; simple fretwork with pine backing. 48 ivory buttons, black accidentals, stamped and bushed. Square-end nickel reeds, very narrow, and pan stamped with number and note names. Four-fold green leather bellows with six-point gold star papers. Later brown leather straps with nickel screws. Oval paper label: 'Joseph Scates, Manufacturer, 10 Frith Street, Soho, London'. Serial number 75.
