Side-blown trumpet
Side blown trumpet. A wooden tube, closed at the proximal end. Slightly conical along most of its length but with a wider flare at the short bell section. An elliptical mouth hole with a raised lip is positioned at the side near the top. Two pieces of leather cover most of the exterior, the overlapping join immediately above the start of the bell flare. A looped leather handle attached midway along the back of the instrument.
