Concertina
Anglo-German system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides; simple frets with later green fabric backing. 23 flat bone buttons: 11 each side + 1 air, numbered 1-10 with '0' on accidentals each side. Ends of buttons penetrate action board, air valve is a brass rod beneath button. Round-end nickel reeds, all reeds on lower half of reed pan, air valve is hinged sprung trapdoor on pan. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Later straps on stepped hand bars. Oval paper label: 'Manufactured by Croft and Co. 144 Westminster Bd. Road, London.' Serial number absent, pencil number inside: 97 or 78.
