English-system concertina. Flat mahogany ends, 6.12in/155mm across parallel sides; simple fretwork with pine backing. 48 ivory buttons: 24 each side, black accidentals, bushed. Round-end nickel reeds. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers. Left-hand strap later, right-hand strap green leather, with small nickel screws. Oval scalloped paper label: 'George Case, Manufacturer and Professor of the concertina, 32 New Bond St, (Late Joseph Scates) London.' Serial number 1735 (side stamped 18101414).
