Concertina
Square concertina, unique system. Flat, square rosewood ends, 6.38in/162mm across parallel sides, purfled and with areas of ornate fretwork with pine backing. Ends secured into frames by 4 bolts, end frames are rosewood and also purfled. 28 domed bone buttons: 14 each side, with coil springs beneath and brass levers. Reeds are in two rows of double-sided blocks, with two reeds per block. Riveted brass tongues, screwed on underside of action. Five-fold square bellows with flowered silver papers. Carved and moulded bellows frames. All straps absent, though signs of strap and screw mountings remain. No label or serial number.
