English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6.31in/160mm across parallel sides; simple frets with pine backing. 48 flat, gold-plated metal buttons: 24 each side, bushed. Round-end reeds, nickel tongues, pan not numbered. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold flowers on white papers. Green leather straps with ornate gilt screws, gilt and chased finger-rests. Stamped under action: 'Rock Chidley'. Oval paper label: 'Rock Chidley, Manufacturer, 135 High Holborn, London.' Serial number: 1339.
