Concertina
English-system concertina. Flat rosewood ends, 6in/152mm across parallel sides; circular frets with pine backing. 38 ivory buttons, black and blue accidentals, stamped and bushed. Square-end nickel reeds. Four-fold green leather bellows, six-point gold star papers. Later cloth straps with nickel screws. Reed pan stamped with note names and: 'J Scates'. Oval paper label: 'Joseph Scates Manufacturer, 40 Frith Street, Soho, London'. Serial number: 106.
