Flûte harmonique

Flûte harmonique, free-reed flute. Sliver plated with ivory ferrules between joints. In three joints (not detachable): head joint with simple embouchure (diameter 10 mm), proximal end stopped with cork. Middle joint with 14 sprung flute-style keys (some pearl mounted), controlling hinged nickel trapdoor pallets covering the free reeds. The foot joint has 13 keys in two blocks of 6, with one longer 'Bass' key. Stamped on head joint: 'Bouveret & Cordier, Brevetes a Paris’.
