Concertina
Bass concertina, English system. Solid flat rosewood ends, elongated hexagonal shape, 8x12in/203x305mm, with bevelled edges and simple frets with pine board backing. Square-end brass reeds, the beds screwed onto base of action. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers, four oval valves in lower front side of frame. Original green leather strap (right hand only) with nickel screws. Oval paper label: ‘By Her Majesty’s Letters Patent/C. Wheatstone/Inventor/20 Conduit St., Regent St./London’. Batch number: 258.
