Bass concertina, English system, single action. Thick, flat rosewood ends in elongated hexagonal shape, 12x8.06in/305x205mm, with simple frets and bevelled edges. 51 ivory buttons: 26 left-hand, 25 right-hand, black accidentals, bushed. Square-end brass beds screwed on to underside of action, brass tongues, double riveted, stamped with French sol-fa note names. Five-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers, pair of air vents in each lower front bellows frame. Right-hand strap is original green leather, left-hand strap absent, nickel screws. Label absent. Serial number: 2938.
