Piano bandoneon. Square ebony veneered ends, 10.38in/264mm across parallel sides, with metal edging and chamfered corners with metal inlaid lyres. 99 pearl inlaid plastic buttons, each end with 4 rows: 13 natural, 9 accidental, 13 natural, 9 accidental. Right-hand with chromed air lever. Steel reed tongues on thick zinc reed plates. 17-fold bellows, metal cornered and trimmed, with gold/red papers; two thick folds, each with neck strap mounts. Buckled leather hand straps. Embossed metal plaque on left-hand pallet cover: 'Alfred Arnold, Bandoneonfabrik, Carlsfeld/Erngeb'. Right-hand hand bar impressed in silver: 'AA' and 'Made in Germany'. The air valve grill is fretworked 'A' with the 'AA trademark' above it. Serial number: 103453.
