Duct flute; s?yotanka
S?yotanka, courting flute, flute of redwood with external duct and cylindrical bore. Conical mouthpiece. The upper and lower sections of the bore are divided by a wooden baffle. A brass plate is fixed around two holes channelling the air out of the top section of the flute and into the lower section. A wooden block is tied above the lip with a length of rawhide. A switch of deer hair is attached to the block, symbolising strength. Five fingerholes, and two vent holes at the distal end. Pokerwork signature 'Sal H'.
