Melodeon
Melodeon, diatonic button accordion. Black stained wood ends, 13.5x6.5in/343x165mm, with 7 tin miniature trumpet bells down each side. Pallet board and cover silver embossed, the cover with eight metal-lined holes. Right-hand: 10 domed brass buttons and 3 metal stops including a tremolo stop. Left-hand: two bass buttons, one air button. Nine-fold metal-mounted bellows, with thick central fold; large gold star papers. Fabric hand strap. Embossed metal plaques on the pallet cover read: 'Campbell's Improved Melodion. 1876. Registered. Protected 1878. Sold only at 108 Trongate, Glasgow', with two Boar's Head trademark plaques. The tops of the three stops are embossed 'C & Co.' No serial number.
