Melodeon
Melodeon, diatonic button accordion. Black wood ends, 10.5x5.5in/267x140mm, embossed. Right-hand has 10 black plastic keys, white plastic levers, metal pallets, two metal reed bank knobs and a tremolo knob. Left-hand has 2 bass and 1 air buttons. Brass reeds. 9-fold bellows with thick central fold; gilt trim on frames, gold stars on black papers. Worn thumb and hand straps. Large labels on bellows: 'The Nonpareil Universal Melodeon with patent visible double valves, manufactured in Germany for Campbell & Co. Joint Patentees. Broad steel reeds, gold medal 1891 Glasgow, 116 Trongate Glasgow.' Metal corners embossed: 'Universal melodeon.' No serial number.
