English-system concertina. Flat amboyna ends; simple fine frets with pine backing. 48 ivory buttons, 24 each end, black accidentals, bushed and stamped. Square-end brass reeds, some later steel tongues. 4-fold green leather bellows, silk-reinforced bottom fold, with gold star papers. Later professionally fitted black leather straps with nickel screws. Oval paper label: ‘By Her Majesty’s Letters Patent/C. Wheatstone/Inventor/20 Conduit St., Regent St./London’. Serial number: 167
