Double monochord research device. Serial number 1108 (Science Museum Survey). Two brass and ivory machine heads that secure strings over a flexible rotating fingerboard (absent), driven by a pair of wooden reels. Probably part of Wheatstone's concern to develop wind powered stringed instruments.
