Duct flute of bamboo. The block is 15 mm long and is positioned 19 mm into the pipe, although it is loose. The rectangular mouth or window has a bevelled lower edge. The single node near the distal end has been opened out. There are six round fingerholes and no thumbhole. The fingerholes are not positioned in a straight line. A crack runs the full length of the back, and by way of repair, the body has been tied together at both ends with string. Handwritten in ink down side of holes: Santal Boy's Flute/N INDIA
