Panpipes
Panpipes. A narrow slab of terracotta in the shape of a right-angled triangle incorporates thirteen stopped pipes of graduated lengths and diameters, which terminate in a line of flat rims along the proximal edge. The profile of each of the two triangular faces reflects the internal bore of each of the pipes, which are oval in cross section. A narrow black band is painted round the edge of the rims.
