Oboe; hne
Hnè, nhai, oboe. The turned wooden conical body with two ridges at the proximal end. Seven round equally spaced finger holes and one thumb hole. A brass bell slots over the distal end, although its socket is much wider than the end of the pipe and it is held in place by a red cord that is tied to the top part of each joint. The top part of the bell has a slightly conical profile, while the lower section has a more marked flare. A ring with a triangular profile connects the two sections, and a seam in the brass is visible along the length of the bell.
