Flat rosewood ends, 6.25in/159mm across parallel sides; simple frets with later silk backing. ‘547’ scratched into side. 48 ivory buttons: 24 each end; with black accidentals, stamped and bushed. Square-end brass reeds. 4-fold green leather bellows with gold star papers; silk panel on lower folds. One green leather strap (left-hand), one nickel screw. Oval paper label: 'Joseph Scates, Manufacturer, 32 New Bond Street, London'. Serial number: 547.
