Concertina
Anglo-German system concertina. Thick, dark mahogany ends, 6.69in/170mm across parallel sides, with bevelled edges and simple frets with red leather backing. 35 flat-topped nickel buttons: 15 + 1 air right-hand, 15 + 2 effects + 2 drones left-hand, bushed. Air button operated by rod to inner sprung flap. Round-end broad steel reeds. 6-fold dark green leather bellows, gold stamped and lined; black papers, gold patterned. Later hand straps, screwed on mahogany hand bars, brass screws. Right-hand bar stamped: 'Screwed Notes Defiance, GJ, London Make'. Oval paper label: 'G Jones, Patent Concertina Manufacturer, 350 Commercial Road East'. Serial number: 22698.
