Nanga; trough zither
Nanga, trough zither. The string-bearer consists of a narrow trough, carved from a solid piece of dark-coloured wood and widening at both ends. One end bears a short handle terminating in a round knob. Both ends of the trough are pierced with six holes, and a single length of twisted leather is passed between them to form six strings, and is tied around the handle.
