Whistle; duct flute
Whistle, duct flute. A cast metal model of a steam locomotive. The beak of the whistle replaces the cab and is upside down in relation to the engine. The flat inner surface of the semicircular mouth hole is angled towards the mouth or window to form a duct. The mouth or window is semicircular and is positioned between the back wheels. A ring at the centre of the smokebox door has a separate ringlet attached and is encircled by the embossed inscription: FRANCE DEPOSÉ; The number '5' is embossed on the lower surface between the wheels.
