Zhong with Cloud and Thunder Pattern (Bronze bell with conical studs)

Preserved in good condition. Some studs may have been broken or become missing. Made of bronze, with greyish-green patina on the surface. The top surface of the tubular handle (yong) is closed up. It has a raised collar (xuan) and a lug (xuanchong) attached to it. The body of the bell is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. It has 36 studs of two-tier column shape. The xuan is decorated with 5 studs. The upper surface (wu) is flat and the two xian points are straight. The mouth (yu) is curved. The upper surface (wu), the areas (zhuan) between the studs and the gu are all decorated with cloud and thunder patterns. The back of the body of the bell has a plain design.
