Zhong with Thin-lined Pattern (Bronze bell with studs)

Well preserved. Brown colour on the surface. The body of the bell is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. Multiple thin lines in low relief are used as frames to define the central panel, the studs and the gu. The upper surface (wu) is flat and the two xian points are straight. There are 36 studs of two-tier columnar shape on the body of the bell. The mouth (yu) is curved. The tubular handle (yong) has a lug (xuanchong) that is shaped like a rope. The areas (zhuan) between the studs and the middle of the gu are decorated with thin-lined cloud patterns. This type of design is rarely seen.
