Linwu Zhong (Yongzhong with cloud pattern)

Well preserved. The colour of the whole body is earthy brown. The body of the bell is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. Multiple incised lines are used as frames to define the central panel, the studs, the areas between the studs and the gu. The upper surface (wu) is flat and the two xian points are straight. The bell has 36 long studs of columnar shape. The mouth (yu) is curved. The tubular rod handle (yong) is thick and large and has a raised collar (xuan), which has a lug (xuanchong) attached to it. The handle (yong) has a square hole near its top. The xuan has a square lug attached to it. The xuan, wu and the central part of the gu are all decorated with cloud patterns. The central panel (zheng) is covered with cicada patterns. The cloud patterns on the areas (zhuan) between the studs are shaped like waves. There are stylised bird designs on the right side of the gu.
