Shuangfeng Dajie Zhong (Bronze bell with cloud patterns and studs)

Generally well preserved. The central panel (zheng) was broken but has now been restored. Several studs are missing. Made of bronze, with yellowish-green colour on the surface. The body of the bell is shaped like a combined pair of tiles. Multiple incised lines are used as frames to define the central panel (zheng), the studs, the areas (zhuan) between the studs and the gu. The upper surface (wu) is flat and the two xian points are straight. The body has 36 long studs. The mouth (yu) is curved. The top surface of the tubular handle (yong) is closed up. No traces of polishing are found inside the body. The mouth (yu) has no inner lips. The studs are of two-tier columnar shape. There are conical studs decorating the raised collar (xuan) on the handle, and cloud and thunder patterns on the wu, zhuan and gu.
