Yongzhong with Studs (Bronze bell with studs)

Generally well preserved. One side of this bell was cracked and the other side was broken. These have now been restored. Made of bronze, with brownish green colour on the surface. The cylindrical handle (yong) is closed at the top. There is a loop shaped like a ring on the top of the handle. The handle also has a raised collar (xuan) and a lug (xuanchong) attached to it. The two xuan points are curved outwards. The cross-section and longisection of the body of the bell are both arc-shaped. The bell has 36 spiral and columnar studs. There are inscriptions cast on the central panel of the bell, but these are not standard inscriptions and are hard to read. The areas above and under the stud frames are decorated with cloud and thunder patterns as well as a stylised animal-mask design.
