Ivory; plug of dark brown wood: elaborately carved with (1) a band of beads immediately above the window; (2) on a long panel below the window a trophy embodying a lute and a trumpet; (3) a central garnish consisting of a wide fluted band with at each end a chaplet between a pair of bead bands; (4) at the foot firstly a band of beads and finally a band of tulip heads: two finger holes and a thumb hole of nearly equal size.
