Bow
Viol bow. Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism, no ferrule at frog. Stick: made of ?Brazil wood; cross-section: basically round, fluted for c.195mm towards the frog end with carved ring on the end; slightly curved inward. Head: facing: plain; rectangular plug, quite small but very fine work, elongated almond shape; plane: triangular with round contour of the outer edge. Frog: made of ivory, with refined profile and sloping cut behind hair mounting; parallelogram plane; c-shape inner undercutting; ivory screw cap with button shape; screw eyelet of brass.
