Bow

Violin or treble viol bow. Method of hair tightening: fixed - the nut slots into the stick and is held in place by the hair. Stick: made of ?snakewood fluted along the entire length; there is a slight concavity when the hair is released. Head: facing: plain; elongated almond shape; plane: half arrow shape relatively narrow (10mm) almost seamlessly evolving into stick; tip slightly raised. Frog: made of ebony on trapezoid plane but with a slope towards the rear part of the frog; c-undercutting; smoothly polished; cross-section narrowed in the middle. This is a bow for either a violin or treble viol; snake-wood has high elasticity, emphasized by the fluting along its length, which helps to establish a high tension in the hair; stick in straight line and in good condition.
