Method of hair tightening: frog and hair missing. Stick: made of pernambuco, dark brown; cross-section: round, octagonal for c. 150mm at frog end. Head: facing: ebony strip on half of the face is all that remains; there may have been an outer strip of ivory as well; elongated almond shape; trapezoid plane; trapezoid wedge. Frog: missing.
