Method of hair tightening: frog and hair missing. Stick: made of ?pernambuco, dark red/aubergine; cross-section round, octagonal for c. 153mm at frog end; no wrapping. Head: facing: inner layer of ebony, outer of ivory; triangular plane; elongated almond shape; wedge hole trapezoid; contour of outer edge swan-like with the tip raised. Frog: missing.
