Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism, no ferrule. Stick: made of brown-aubergine wood; cross section round, octagonal for c. 110mm at frog end, visible only after padded grip; silver thread winding and black leather padded grip. Head: facing: 2mm strip of ebony; almond shaped; trapezoid plug; contour of outer edge: boot like; trapezoid plane. Frog: made of ebony, not original; c-shape undercutting; trapezoid plane with outer bottom corner rounded; screw cap of ebony, octagonal in cross section; screw made of iron; eyelet of iron; liner made of German silver. The frog, wire and leather are replacements.
