Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism, frog with ferrule. Stick: made of pernambuco dark brown and reddish; cross section round, octagonal for c. 150mm at frog end; grip made of padded brown snake skin leather and black leather. Head: facing: inner strip of ebony and outer of ivory, also embraces the tip; shape of elongated almond; trapezoid plug; trapezoid plane. Frog: made of ebony with mother-of-pearl inlaid eye on both sides; rectangular plane, c-shape undercutting; ferrule made of silver; slide of mother-of-pearl; silver backplate; screw cap of silver-ebony-silver with inlaid mother-of-pearl tip, octagonal in cross-section; screw made of iron; eyelet of brass; liner of German silver for facilitating sliding on the stick.
