Method of hair tightening: simple screw mechanism, no ferrule. Stick: made of pernambuco, medium brown, varnished; cross section round, octagonal for c. 130mm at frog end; no grip; the end of the stick reinforced with a brass ring. Head: facing: ivory strip embracing the tip; trapezoid plug; the head is narrow and long with a tip raised up; triangular plane. Frog: made of ebony; rectangular plane with an oval hole and small c-shape undercutting; ebony screw cap of octagonal cross-section; screw made of iron; eyelet of brass.
